We are pleased to congratulate Director of Southern Queensland Rural Health, Assoc Professor Geoff Argus on being awarded the 2021 Interprofessional Global Best Research Award. This award given as recognition on a global award for a five-year study that is contributing to better patient outcomes and work satisfaction for rural health providers.
The study found that the RIPES model produced significant changes in student attitudes, perceptions, skills, knowledge and confidence in interprofessional practice, and improved their work-readiness.
Director of Southern Queensland Rural Health, Associate Professor Geoff Argus said the study, which began in 2016, has resulted in the development and trial of the RIPES model being used across several hospital and health services in Queensland.
“This research will contribute to better patient outcomes and work satisfaction for rural health providers.”
