We're pleased to announce the release of Health Workforce Queensland's 2023-2024 Annual Report, which reviews our activities and achievements in supporting a sustainable health workforce to enhance the health of Queensland’s communities.
The report highlights key accomplishments across several areas:
Commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities: Expanded support through targeted programs and upskilling opportunities to address healthcare needs in Indigenous communities.
Professional Development Workshops: Delivered hands-on, interactive training designed specifically for rural health practitioners, supporting continuous professional growth.
Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP): Provided financial assistance to remote and rural health professionals to enhance clinical skills and expand service capacity.
Health Workforce Needs Assessment (HWNA): Gathered valuable insights from remote and rural health professionals, informing data-driven approaches to workforce planning.
Collaborations and Alliances: Strengthened partnerships with stakeholders and PHNs to promote workforce initiatives, streamline recruitment solutions, and support health student placements.
Recruitment and Locum Support: Ensured consistent healthcare access in remote and rural areas by supporting recruitment and providing locum coverage for continuous care.
Future Workforce Initiatives: Continued expansion of the Grow Rural Program, encouraging university students to undertake rural placements, helping to inspire the next generation of rural health professionals
