Job Title: Locum General Practitioner - Middlemount, Queensland.
Hours: Full-Time.
Proposed Locum Period: 3rd February – 16th February 2025. Various shifts available on the roster, the most common is 14 days on and 14 days off however the practice is willing to offer 28 days at any one time.
Practice Information:
Solo GP with receptionists, Registered Nurse (full-time), Enrolled Nurse (working under a grant from the NQPHN), Phlebotomist, Chronic Care Coordinator (part-time) and Practice Manager. Ambulance and paramedic are located in town and hospitals are an hour or so away.
The Work:
Family orientated
Mums and children
Visiting famers
Mine workers occasionally but mainly when they are off work and living in town
3-4 patients an hour
8 hours a day
Clinic closes for lunch
Slow pace
Will need to do coal board medicals but the nurse does most the work (may need to do short qualification)
14 days on includes 3 hours on Saturday and Sunday
Must hold the phone for after-hours but no home visits, any one needs you the ambulance is normally called
About 2-4 CDM patients a day – all done by Nurse
Qualifications & Experience:
Vocationally registered General Practitioner with AHPRA
Would suit a GP who is interested in Occupational Health and might also be willing to work in our Rockhampton clinic on the 14 days off side of the roster.
Locum Rate & Inclusions:
$21,600 for 14 days (ie. 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off)

Middlemount is a mining town with over 1,300 permanent residents and the clinic's patients are mainly young families. Other information:

Very much like a little metropolitan suburb but in the middle of central Queensland
People are nice
Appreciate the medical service
