Job Title: Nurse Practitioner – Toowoomba, Queensland
Hours: Permanent - Full Time. Saturday as required.

Position Details:
Maintain competence to practice in accordance with national competency standards for the Nurse Practitioner as directed by the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia (NMBA). Provide advanced and autonomous expert care to patients and families in accordance with Nurse Practitioner legislation and functions by: -Renewing prescriptions repeats -Assessment and management of wounds including removal of stitches -Assessment and management of sprains and strains, ached and pains, or other acute concerns -Bladder health management -Skin health management -Digestive health management -Sexual and reproductive health management -Ongoing management of asthma and COPD -Continuing the care maintained with patient’s current treating GP Patient management within own scope of practice. Provide management of long-term conditions in line with national guidelines and pathways. Manage patient recalls, reminders and follow up of test results. Work collaboratively to support pharmacist, nursing, and allied health colleagues in the performance of their clinical role. Escalate care to general practitioners where indicated. Refer for specialist care where indicated. Plan and develop a problem-solving approach to patient care. Record and maintain accurate, adequate, and relevant patient records using the established practice protocols and computerised medical records system while meeting legislative standards and accreditation requirements. Complete mandatory training and education as relevant to the role. Assist in the professional development of others. Comply with the NMBA code of conduct for nurses and code of ethics for nurses. Ability to effectively network and build a community of practice with allied health practitioners including OT, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists Work alongside and collaboratively with Pharmacist in Charge to deliver quality health care for patients. Providing clinical governance and oversight for subcontracted community nurses Understanding and ability to build relationships with ATSI and community based supports: Able to travel within Queensland locations as required to attend patient’s needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Strong administrative experience (minimum 2 years) (essential)
Post graduate qualifications in wound and stoma care, diabetes, or related community qualifications.
Willingness and ability to obtain Medicare Provider Number to treat Medicare patients.
Knowledge of MBS Items for Nurse Practitioners
Ability to create clinical procedures and update in accordance with legislative standards and accreditation requirements.
Salary Information:
$45 - $65 per hour.
