JOB -10003152
Are you seeking a supportive and structured start to your Podiatry career?
On offer is a 2 year internship program in the beautiful Mackay and Whitsunday region
Job Type: Permanent - Full Time (38 hours per week)
After Hours Requirements: No
Practice Information:
This practice is focused on fixing foot pain with 90% of their patients having biomechanical injuries. Most patients are direct referrals from other medical professionals. The practice systems and processes are world class and are all about supporting you to focus on being the best Podiatrist you can be and enjoying yourself while you're at it! They make your life easy.
Position Description:
The new graduate internship is a properly structured new graduate position that progressively trains you to become confident and competent in all areas of podiatry practice. The practice likes to think of it as the ideal transition from university to private practice. All new graduates who have completed the 2 year internship are ALL still enjoying practicing podiatry (whether still with us or having moved on to other workplaces).
Why do we offer a new graduate internship?
We know that transitioning from university to private practice is hard. Our clinical director Phil Marshman (QUT 2004 graduate) developed the internship in response to his own poor mentoring experience straight out of university. Now in it’s 8th year, the new graduate program has had many successful completions and all are still working in and enjoying their podiatry career.
Recruitment is hard! It’s getting harder to find podiatrists and one way the practice has managed to stand out is by offering a specific 2 year course with limited intake every year or so. Getting a job is easy, getting a good one is hard!
The practice’s culture is everything to them. Their values are enjoyment, excellence, togetherness, trust, and generosity, and their values inform every decision they make.
They are team players, so you better be too! This is an amazing opportunity for a new graduate, or recent graduate, to develop their skills and confidence, as part of a really fun and supportive team environment. We take having fun very seriously!
Do you…
Love being part of a friendly team and working in a fun and encouraging environment?
Have a passion for changing people’s lives by fixing their foot pain?
Have a specific interest in learning to treat biomechanical injuries and to use cutting edge therapies for other common foot injuries and complaints?
Want a diverse case load?
Enjoy variety and want the ability to work in a modern clinic, but also occasional nursing home services, and outreach trips?
Enjoy using cutting edge equipment, such as video gait analysis tools, 3D optical scanners for orthotics, ESWT (shockwave), SWIFT microwave for verrucae, and Lunula Cold Laser for fungal nail infections?
Want to maintain and grow relationships with the local physiotherapists, GP's, chiropractors, other local health and fitness friends?
Qualifications & Experience: This practice is looking for a new or recent podiatry graduate with AHPRA registration. Experienced practitioners are also free to register their interest.
You don’t have to be the highest achiever at university to be an excellence clinician. We are experts at training new graduate podiatrists!
Salary Information: $65,000 at sign on first year.
Other Benefits: 2 year internship with ability to extend if suitable.
