This Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation delivers a primary health care service to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of the Gold Coast & surrounding communities.
Position Description:
The organisations is looking for a motivated Registered Nurse who is passionate about improving the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The successful candidate will provide high-quality health services including assessment, examination, treatment and case management, along with contributing to the development of models of holistic health incorporating continuity of care. As part of the organisation’s ongoing growth and development, you will be joining a community-focused team at the Miami clinic.
Provide quality nursing practice within an Aboriginal primary health care model of service by assisting the medical/primary health care team and effectively coordinate own and team’s workload to achieve results
Make a positive contribution to illness prevention and promotion of health through chronic disease management, health screening, health assessments, recalls and patient education
Understanding of the principles of primary health care and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team
Effective communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal to ensure quality medical documentation
Demonstrated clinic experience and the ability to implement and support a comprehensive model of chronic disease with a view to achieve better outcomes for clients
Operate within clinical policy and procedures at all times.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current AHPRA registration
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
Phlebotomy experience
Previous experience working with culturally diverse people
Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes
Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Demonstrated computer literacy including proficient keyboard and data entry skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Current Qld C class drivers license.
This position requires the successful applicant to satisfy a national criminal history check and hold a current drivers' license.
A Blue Card for working with children is desirable (in addition to AHPRA registration).
