Practice Information:
This clinic is a mixed billing clinic with permanent GP's as well as a suite of locums who visit Blackwater regularly. They have locations in Blackwater and Emerald and also contain a cosmetic skin clinic that offers anti-wrinkle and dermal injections.

Position Description:
This practice is seeking to recruit an experienced Registered Nurse to join their busy practice as a lead Nurse. This position works closely with the Director and the Practice Business Manager and requires supervision and training of Enrolled Nurses and Graduate RN's. The successful applicant ideally has previous General Practice experience; however, this is not a requirement as some training will be provided. The successful applicant must be proficient in areas such as immunisations, aseptic infection control techniques, catch up schedules, cannulation and pathology collection, stock management and rotation, sound clinical risk skills, cold chain requirements and more, and has ideally previously been in a team leader position prior. The practice undertakes a high level of occupational medicine. While current spirometry and drug and alcohol screening qualifications are advantageous, training can be provided for the right applicant. The successful applicant will be an agile team leader who is able to ensure that the day-to-day Nursing functions are maintained effectively.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current AHPRA registration with no conditions or limitations

• Minimum 2 years of experience post graduation

• Previous GP experience is desired but not essential

• Ability to demonstrate sound clinical skills and abilities

• Previous team lead experience

• This position is not open to new graduates

About Blackwater:
Blackwater is approximately 2.5 hours from Rockhampton and is a minining town located in the central highlands region. It offers parks and activities, as well as schools for families. For those wishing to send their children to school in Emerald, there is a school bus that takes the children to and from each day. Blackwater has a Woolworths and series of other stores and amenities for daily living.
