The first Health Works newsletter of 2025 has just been released! We’re kicking off the year with impressive recruitment results, including 10 allied health professionals, 8 of whom are new graduates, starting their roles in rural Queensland this month. Additionally, we’re excited to welcome Rosie Barton as our new Health Workforce Connector in Gladstone.
Applications for university students interested in rural healthcare will soon open for the GROW Rural North Queensland cohort, and we’re thrilled to announce our first Rockhampton workshop in over two years, taking place this March.
Don’t forget about some fantastic funding opportunities - the Maternal Child Health Uplift Program, aimed at upskilling Northern Queensland healthcare professionals in maternal and child health, and the Going Rural North bursary for university students considering placements in NQ. Plus, Round 1 of the Health Workforce Scholarships Program is now open for applications, and nominations for the QRMFN Backbone of the Bush Award are now being accepted.
