Job Title: General Practitioner - Part-Time - Laidley, Queensland.
Job Type: Permanent.
Hours: Part-Time. 3 days per week, if available to work Saturday's. FTE depends on Drs availability.
Practice Information:
This practice is a mixed-billing general practice. The clinic is an AGPAL accredited, long-established clinic and is well-equipped with full-time admin, nursing and IT support. The support staff are there to help GP's to do care plans, health assessments, women and men's health, wound care immunisation and COVID clinics, help with finding the right specialist for the right people and generally make sure that any GP is comfortable and happy in their work environment. The practice has visiting Allied Health providers Exercise physiologist, Podiatrist and Audiologist.
Position Description:
Part time General Practitioner with AHPRA registration. The General Practitioner’s main role is to provide comprehensive medical care to individuals, families and communities. The GP will be required to manage Aged Care Residents in the Local Nursing home and provide home visits with support of an RN. The clinic is comprised of medical doctors who treat acute and chronic illnesses and provide preventive care and health education to patients. The General Practitioner in this position is required to manage various types of illness that present in an undifferentiated way at an early stage of development, which may sometimes require urgent intervention. The holistic approach of general practice aims to takes into consideration the biological, psychological and social factors relevant to the care of each patient's illness. The General Practitioner’s duties are not confined to specific organs of the body; however, they also have particular skills in treating people with multiple health issues. They must be able to treat patients of any age and sex to levels of complexity that vary. The General Practitioner may be at times involved in emergency care and sometimes will need to perform low complexity surgical procedures. Follow up of our patients are encouraged on simple and complex health conditions. The General Practitioner will provide a range of health services ranging from prevention of illness through to treatment and rehabilitation. The position requires at times consultation with other professionals internally who have additional special skills some areas of medicine and externally as required, with coordination and ongoing care relating back to the General Practitioner. In this role the GP will continue to assist patients and the community by providing ongoing education, participation in health promotion. We can offer supervision to the right candidate if required.
Salary: Competitive remuneration on offer.
Qualifications & Experience:
VR, RACGP or ACRRM AHPRA registered
Experience working in Australia is preferable, however we can offer Level 1 & 2 Supervision

Laidley is a small country town with a population of approximately 4200, situated within the Lockyer Valley in South-East Queensland and is located 84.2 kilometres west of Brisbane, and 57 kilometres east of Toowoomba. Laidley is a rural region in the MMM5 and a DPA area. The town has a great community spirit and offers schools public and private, Post Office, Police station, well equipped local Library, supermarket, bakery, cafes, newsagency, Banks, Hotels, Second Hand shops to find unique treasures, 3 General Practices and the local 15 bed hospital.
